On December 31st at approximately 6:45 p.m. an officer of the Hannibal Police Department was responding to a 911 open line call in the 3300 block of Market St. The officer made contact at an apartment, in an attempt to locate the source of the call and saw what he believed to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia lying out in the open. The officer detained the occupants and seized the items. During a consensual search of the apartment, a large amount of what is believed to be marijuana and several other items of drug paraphernalia were located and seized. The occupants of the apartment, 31 year old Devonne D. Reading and 29 year old Jessica M. White, both of Hannibal, were arrested for Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Bothe Reading and White were released pending warrants.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
