On Thursday, December 7th, the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County charged Dustin M. Baird, a 36-year-old homeless man, with Second Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Wednesday, Dec 6th. At approximately 9:42 p.m. Officers with the Hannibal Police Department were called to the 200 block of N Griffith for a person who was trespassing and damaging property. A witness and the victim stated Baird had allegedly displayed a knife and lunged towards them attempting to stab them. Baird was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported. Baird’s bond was set at $25,000.00 cash or surety. He remains in the Marion County Jail.
