On Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 9:04 am, Officers of the Hannibal Police Department responded to a traffic crash with injuries on MO 79 at Grand Avenue.
The crash involved a 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 36 year old Lawrence Leerhoff, of Hannibal. The other vehicle involved was a 2007 Honda, driven by 20 year old Skye Begley, of Hannibal. Leerhoff and witnesses reported the Honda had its turn signal on as it approached the intersection of MO 79 and Grand Avenue. As Leerhoff began to cross the intersection, the Honda continued south on MO 79 and struck Leerhoff and the motorcycle. Leerhoff was transported from the scene by Marion County Ambulance with injuries and taken to the Hannibal Regional Hospital. He was later air evacuated to another facility due to the seriousness of his injuries.
