On Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 3:35 pm, Officers of the Hannibal Police Department responded to a one vehicle traffic crash with injuries on Fulton Avenue near Helm Street. A 1992 Toyota Corolla, driven by 18 year old Patricia Scheibel, was traveling north on Fulton Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle. The Toyota ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing the vehicle to flip onto its passenger side. A juvenile female was a passenger in the vehicle along with 24 year old Johnathan Shiflett who was a rear passenger. Patricia and the juvenile were transported from the scene by the Marion County Ambulance and taken to the Hannibal Regional Hospital for evaluation. The driver was issued a summons for reckless driving resulting in a traffic crash. No one in the vehicle was wearing a safety belt.
