On Tuesday, August 29, 2017, Hannibal Police Officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES), went to a residence on Heritage Drive after receiving information regarding the possible distribution of a controlled substance and a subject hiding with a felony warrant. Upon arrival officers encountered subjects who ran inside the residence. A short time later a male subject jumped out of a window and was arrested. Officers detained the remaining residents and obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the course of the search items were located which tested positive for methamphetamine. A firearm was located in a bedroom which was found to be in the possession of a felon.
The following subjects were arrested as a result of the investigation:
- Robert Cunningham (55) of Hannibal, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a firearm.
- Dennis Kroencke (48) of Hannibal, probation and parole warrant.
- John Vogel (31) of Hannibal, probation and parole warrant, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.
- Baxter Swain (25) of Hannibal, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Vogel and Kroencke were transported to the Marion County Jail and the other subjects were released pending review by the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney.
