On Saturday, December 5th, at approximately 4:27pm Officers with the Hannibal Police Department responded to the 500 block of Mark Twain Ave. for a disturbance. Upon investigation it was determined a verbal argument occurred between Kayveon K. Dorsey, 17 of Mexico, and a Hannibal woman. During the argument Dorsey fired a handgun at the female missing her but striking the rear bumper of vehicle passing by on Mark Twain Ave. A search of Dorsey’s hotel room was conducted and a firearm was recovered. Dorsey was taken to the Marion County Jail and placed on a twenty-four hour hold.
On Sunday, December 6th, a warrant was issued by the Marion County Circuit Court, Associate Division. Dorsey was charged with Domestic Assault 1st Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action. His bond was set at $100,000.00 cash only. Dorsey remains in the Marion County Jail. Dorsey also had outstanding warrants out of Audrain County for Dangerous Drugs, Forgery, Resisting an Officer, and Domestic Assault.
