On Thursday, August 17th the 10th Judicial Circuit of Marion County issued warrants for Bradley M. Roberts, 18 of Hannibal. Roberts was charged with First Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, Kidnapping, and Possession of a Defaced Firearm. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Wednesday at approximately 10:40pm in the 3000 block of Warren Barrett Drive. NECOMM advised officers shots were being fired at an individual and a possible kidnapping had taken place. Officers were given a description of the vehicle involved which they quickly located and stopped. Roberts and a male juvenile were taken into custody without incident. Upon search of the vehicle two firearms and ammunition were recovered. The individual who reported being shot at was not injured. The victim of the kidnapping had just been released by Roberts prior to officer’s stopping it, they also were not injured.
Roberts bond was set at $100,000.00 cash and he remains in the Marion County Jail. The juvenile was taken to a detention facility by a Juvenile Officer.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
