At 11:36 a.m. Tuesday morning, Officers of the Hannibal Police Department were called to the 2600 block of Chestnut for a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived on scene they discovered a male subject with a puncture wound to his upper body. A 45 year old Hannibal female was taken into custody for assaulting the male with a knife. The male was transported to the Hannibal Regional Hospital by ambulance for treatment. The suspect was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County Jail, for Assault 1st Degree, pending a warrant. Further information will be released as it is appropriate to do so.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
