On Sunday, November 6th, the Circuit Court of Marion County issued warrants for Julia A. Bowen, 55 of Hannibal, and Richard D. Bowen, 24 of Hannibal. Julia was charged with Domestic Assault First Degree and Armed Criminal Action. Richard was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Saturday, November 5th, at approximately 9:11a.m. Officers with the Hannibal Police Department responded to the 3600 block of McMasters for a domestic disturbance. Officers located Julia in the parking lot with a male who was lying on the ground and had a gunshot wound. Detectives with the Hannibal Police Department responded to the scene and determined Julia had fired several rounds from a handgun at Richard. A physical altercation ensued between Julia and Richard after she had fired the gun. At some point during the altercation the male victim suffered a gunshot wound. Richard had fled the scene with the firearm. Richard returned to the scene and detectives were able to recover the handgun. The male victim was transported to Blessing Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Richard and Julia remain in the Marion County Jail. Their bonds are set at $50,000.00 cash only.
