The Hannibal Police Department has experienced a slight uptick in crime since COVID-19 began. It is too early to tell if this marginal increase in crime will continue or level out once people become accustom to their new reality. For approximately the last three weeks several officers have been reassigned to increase the number on patrol to respond to calls for service or provide extra patrol to the community. This will continue until COVID-19 recommendations are lifted.
