Officers of the Hannibal Police Department (HPD) conducted nine (9) on site alcohol sale compliance checks at local Restaurants and convenience stores Friday (September 23rd) evening in a continued effort to reduce the availability of alcoholic beverages to minors. Of the nine (9) businesses checked for compliance, all were found to be in compliance. Thus far in 2011 the Hannibal Police Department has conducted a combined total of Thirty four (34) compliance checks at various businesses in Hannibal and found only ten (10) that were non-compliant which represents a 71% compliance rate. The businesses found in compliance on Friday were as follows:

- Ayerco 4121 Market St.
- Walgreens 455 S Highway 61
- Maya Restaurant 374 Huck Finn Shopping Center
- Wal-Mart 3650 Stardust
- Abel’s 2859 James Rd
- BP 624 Mark Twain Ave
- Abel’s 804 Mark Twain Ave
- Thoromart 2000 Highway 61
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
