On Wednesday, January 4th at approximately 1:42a.m. Officers with the Hannibal Police Department were dispatched to an attempted burglary in the 2500 block of Hope Street. The home owner provided a description of the vehicle that fled the area of their home. Officers quickly located the vehicle and saw one of the occupants throw items from the vehicle as they approached. Officers contacted Seth Emerson, 23 of Hannibal, Austin Enochs, 29 of Monroe City, and Ashely Clayton, 36 of Hannibal. The items thrown from the vehicle are believed to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Inside the vehicle Officers located items that are known to be used in the commission of burglaries. Emerson, Enochs, and Clayton were taken into custody. The 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County issued the following warrants:
- Enochs: Possession of Burglar Tools, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Emerson: Possession of Burglar Tools
- Clayton: Possession of Burglar Tools
Bond was set at $25,000.00 cash or surety and they remain in the Marion County Jail.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
