Officers of the Hannibal Police Department were called to a traffic accident on Friday evening involving a SUV and a pedestrian. The accident occurred on MO Highway 79 at the intersection with Broadway. The driver of the SUV and witnesses advised the pedestrian, a 36 year old Hannibal man, was lying in the northern crosswalk in northbound lane of Highway 79. The SUV struck the prone pedestrian and stopped immediately after. The pedestrian was transported by Marion County Emergency Services for treatment.
