On Wednesday, March 25th, evening, officers of the Hannibal Police Department received information that a subject with an active warrant was staying in a room at Americas Best Value Inn in the 500 block of Mark Twain Ave. There was addition information of a possible methamphetamine lab in the same room. When officers made contact with the occupants, they detected a strong chemical smell associated with the production of methamphetamine. Officers received consent to search the room and discovered several “one pot” methamphetamine labs, chemicals commonly used in the production of methamphetamine, substance believed to be methamphetamine, syringes and drug paraphernalia. The Hannibal Fire Department was dispatched to the scene in order to ventilate the room. The occupants of the room, Ashley Y. Johnston, 30, of Hannibal, Tracey L. Conrad, 42, of Hannibal, James A. Dolbeare, 37, of New Canton IL, and Donald W. Crooks, 55, of Hannibal were arrested and charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Dolbeare was also arrested on (2) active felony warrants and Interfering with an Investigation. All four subjects were placed on 24 hour holds at the Marion County Jail.
