While responding to a report of a domestic assault, at 03:46 a.m. Wednesday morning, an officer of the Hannibal Police Department observed the suspects vehicle leaving the area. The officer stopped the vehicle in the 800 block of Vermont. As the officer was exiting the patrol car, the suspect vehicle backed toward the officer, striking the patrol car. The suspect driver then fled the scene on foot. The officer involved was not injured. This incident remains under investigation.
