On Friday August 2, 2019 Hannibal Police Officers were notified that a male who stole a vehicle out of Quincy was parked at 8th and Church in Hannibal. Offices contacted a 31 year old Quincy male who failed to comply with commands and fled from Officers. Spike strips were used to deflate one of the suspect’s tires. The male later stopped in the Huck Finn Shopping Center where officers attempted to negotiate him out of the vehicle. The male was reported to have mental disorders and after some time negotiating with the suspect he exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident. The male was transported for mental evaluation and criminal charges are pending. Hannibal Police Department was assisted by Marion County Sheriff Dept, Marion County EMS, and Mark Twain Behavioral Health.
