On Wednesday September 12 at 4:40 p.m. an officer of the Hannibal Police Department observed a subject, with an active warrant, walking in the 200 block of South Griffith. When the officer contacted the subject, he fled on foot to a nearby residence. The officer caught up to the subject in the doorway of the residence and grabbed his arm. When the officer attempted to place the subject into handcuffs the subject continued to fight the officer in an attempt to get away. Other officers arrived on scene and assisted the officer with the subject. During the course of the arrest, a member of the subjects family became irate and assaulted one of the assisting officers by hitting and pushing him. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the police department. The first subject, 21 year old Quentin L. Dorsey, of Hannibal, was charged with Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer and a warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Dorsey was unable to post bond and placed in the Marion County Jail. The second subject, 25 year old Deann’dra N. Dorsey, also of Hannibal, was charged with Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer and released on a summons.
