At 7:31 p.m. Friday night, an Officer of the Hannibal Police Department stopped a vehicle on Broadway near Grand Ave for an equipment violation. When the officer contacted the driver, she detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested for Driving While Revoked and the vehicle was searched. During the course of the search a large quantity of what is believed to be marijuana was located. Also located were items used in the distribution of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The driver 25 year old Darren L. Gibbons, of Hannibal, was arrested for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County Jail. Gibbons was also ticketed for the Equipment Violation and Driving While Revoked. The passenger in the vehicle, 26 year old Holden C. White, also of Hannibal, was arrested for Distribution of a Controlled Substance and released pending warrants.
