Officers of the Hannibal Police Department were called to Wal-Mart, at 3650 Stardust, for a report of stealing. Loss Prevention had reported a male subject had hidden stereo equipment in his jacket and left the store without paying. Upon the officers arrival they located the male and a female, in a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers contacted the subjects and located the stolen item. Both subjects, a 35 year old male from Quincy, IL and a 33 year old Hannibal woman, were arrested and transported to the police department. During the subsequent investigation it was discovered the subjects were involved in a series of thefts, of electronics equipment, from both the Hannibal and Quincy Wal-Mart. It was also discovered that several other subjects may be involved. Detectives of the Hannibal Police Department are continuing this investigation and further information will be released when appropriate. Both subjects were released to the Marion County Jail.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
