The Hannibal Police Department will be conducting traffic survey summaries on several Hannibal streets, utilizing the Police Departments Traffic Summary Trailer which is equipped with a speeding measuring device and internal computer which tracks the numbers of vehicles traveling on the specific road, along with other data. The computer can then perform several different analyzes of the gathered data and produce a printed report. The information derived from the traffic trailer report is compared to previous data, officer observations, citizen complaints and accident reports, to help determine the appropriate enforcement and traffic control in those areas. The streets involved in the initial traffic surveys are as follow:
- US 61
- Stardust
- Munger Lane
- Rt.79
- Union Street
- Fulton Ave
- Pleasant Street
- Harrison Hill/Palmyra Road.
Others streets will be considered at a later date.
