On Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at approximately 1059 Officer’s responded to a report of a injury accident at US 61 and US 36. Tyrel Birky, 20 YOA of Kahoka, Missouri was operating a 1997 Infiniti J30 southbound on US 61 when he failed to see the other vehicle stopped at a red electrical signal and collided with it. Rhonda Brown, 49 YOA of Hannibal, Missouri was stopped at the red light in her 2012 Ford Focus when she was rear ended from behind. Birkly was transported by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital and reported back and neck pain, Brown was transported by private vehicle to Hannibal Regional Hospital. Both vehicle’s where towed from the scene due to damages, neither passenger in Birklys vehicle complained of any injury. US 61 southbound lane was closed for approximately 40 minutes and traffic was diverted to US 36 until scene cleared.
