On Friday, June 28, 2019, at approximately 01:48 am officers of the Hannibal Police Department responded to the area of West Ely and Pioneer Trail in response to a report of a one vehicle traffic crash with injuries. An investigation revealed a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by a 27 year old male from Hannibal, was traveling west on West Ely at the intersection of Pioneer Trail when it ran off the road south of West Ely. The vehicle traveled through a yard and collided with several objects, including a residence in the 4200 block of West Ely. The residents were not injured. The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage. The male passenger, a 28 year old male from Hannibal, was transported by ambulance to the Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment. The male driver had minor injuries, but was not transported by ambulance. The driver was ticketed for traffic violations.
