On Friday evening (August 5, 2011) Officers of the Hannibal Police Department Narcotics Unit received information that a suspected drug dealer was at a location in the 200 block of Centerville Rd. While investigating that information, the officers witnessed what they believed to be a drug transaction between the suspect, 24 year old Briana L. Kyle of St. Louis and another subject, 37 year old Daniel A. Youngblood of Hannibal. Both subjects were contacted and detained. During the subsequent search of the subjects vehicles, officers located a small amount of what is believed to be heroin and a small amount of what is believed to be marijuana. Officers also received consent to search an apartment where Kyle has been staying and located more suspected heroin. Kyle was arrested for Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance and released to the Marion County Jail on a 24 hour hold. On August 06, 2011 a $50,000.00 cash only warrant was issued and served on Kyle. Youngblood was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and released pending a warrant.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
