At 09:07 hours Tuesday morning, Hannibal Police Officers were called to the 400 block of South Highway 61 for a report of a stolen vehicle. The owner of the vehicle reported leaving his vehicle unattended while he went into a business. When he returned the vehicle was pulling onto Highway 61 headed south. Witnesses reported seeing a male subject wearing a black hooded sweat shirt in the vicinity of the vehicle at the time it was stolen. Surrounding agencies were informed and the vehicle was located and a suspect was arrested by Troy MO police. 25 year old Nicholas M. Mueller, of St. Louis was arrested and placed on a 24 hour hold by the Troy Police Department. Charges are pending in both Troy MO and in Hannibal.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
