At 11:27 p.m. Wednesday night officers of the Hannibal Police Department were called to the area of Gordon St and Richmond for a report of a stolen handgun. When officers arrived the victim reported he had been assaulted by Corey L Cobb (25 of St Louis) and his handgun was stolen during the assault. Cobb was still in the area and was taken into custody without incident. The gun was located hidden in a yard and seized as evidence. Cobb was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County Jail. The victim suffered only minor injuries, that did not require medical attention.
