On Wednesday, May 15th, the 10th Judicial District of Marion County issued felony warrants on Cody S. Rickey, 33 of Hannibal, and Jeffrey L. Porter Jr., 37 of Hannibal, charging them with two counts of receiving stolen property. The warrants stem from a report that was made with the Hannibal Police Department on Tuesday, May 14th. At approximately 3:09pm officers responded to the 1700 block of Owens Ave for a report stealing. Witnesses gave a description of two males seen leaving the area with items that belonged to the rail yard in the 1700 block of Owens. The description of the males matched information officers had from previously reported thefts in Ralls County. Officers executed search warrants in the 900 block of Baker where Rickey and Porter were taken into custody. Some of the items stolen from Owens Ave and Ralls County were recovered along with items believed to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Officers then executed a search warrant in the 1100 block of Colfax where additional stolen items were recovered. Rickey and Porter’s bonds were set at $25,000.00 cash or surety. They are both out on bond.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
