Hannibal Police Officers arrest a subject on charges of child abuse. Monday evening just after 5:00pm officers were called to the 1200 Block of Lindell Ave to a report of possible child abuse. Officers conducted an investigation and later in the evening located and arrested a suspect in connection with the incident on 30th Street. The suspect was identified as a 23 year old Hannibal man. The victim in the case is identified as a two month old female, the injuries to the child did not appear to be life threatening and she was treated at Hannibal Regional Hospital. According to police reports the child was in the 1500 block of 29th Street when the alleged abuse occurred. The suspect was placed in the Marion County Jail on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of formal charges. More information on this case will be released upon the filing of formal charges.
