An arrest warrant for Shiron D. Smith of Hannibal was issued on Sunday, August 12, 2012. Smith is charged with Attempted Robbery in the First Degree a Class B Felony under RSMO 569.020 and 564.011. Punishable upon conviction under sections 558.011.1(2), RSMO [Range of punishment not less than five years nor more than fifteen years imprisonment]. His bond was set at $100,000 cash only and he remains in the Marion County jail.

On Saturday, August 11, 2012 at approximately 7:50pm the Hannibal Police Department investigated a reported attempted robbery of a Papa John’s delivery driver in the alley behind the 1800 block of Broadway. Officer’s located a 34 year old black male from Hannibal in the area who matched the description, the subject was detained and two witness where able to identify him as being the suspect. He was arrested and booked in on attempted Robbery 1st degree; after the officers had taken the suspect to the Hannibal Police Department he was eventually transported to the Marion County Sheriff Department and held there on a 24-hour hold pending issuance of an arrest warrant.
