On Sunday night, October 27th, officers responded to a report of an assault in the 200 block of South 6th Street. Upon arrival officers located an adult male who had been stabbed at a residence. Officers arrested Richard A. Reed, 27 of Hannibal. On Monday, October 28th a warrant was issued from the 10th Judicial Circuit Court charging Reed with Assault First Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine). Reed’s bond is set at $100,000 cash only. The 36 year old victim was transported by ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital for what appears to be non-life threatening injuries. Reed remains in the Marion County Jail.
