Multiple Arrests After Joint Enforcement

On Friday March 25, 2022, Officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES) conducted a joint enforcement project with the Missouri State Highway Patrol in an effort to combat drug activity within the City of Hannibal. During the enforcement project officers stopped Justin L Fuget (33), of Hannibal Missouri, for a traffic violation. Officers noticed Fuget exhibited suspicious behavior, and had a safe with him inside the vehicle. The Missouri State Highway Patrol K9 assisted, and a search was conducted of Fuget’s vehicle. A loaded handgun, and a large amount of a substance believed to be methamphetamine was seized. On Saturday a warrant was issued in the 10th Judicial Circuit of Marion County charging Fuget with Trafficking Drugs 1st Degree, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Fuget remains in the Marion County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.

In addition to Fuget’s arrest, officers reported the following activity and arrests as part of the enforcement project:

Traffic Stops 21
Citizen Contacts 8
Citations 11
Open Liquor Arrests 2
Drug Arrests (Misdemeanor) 4
Drug Arrests (Felony) 1
Warrant Arrests (Misdemeanor) 4
Warrant Arrests (Felony) 1

**Joint numbers from HPD/MSHP. Does not Include Fuget Arrest

The Hannibal Police Department appreciates the cooperation from the Missouri State Highway Patrol on this project. The joint effort speaks to the relationship developed with the Patrol and the joint goal of making Missouri safer. More enforcement projects may be planned in the future, with the goal of making it harder for those involved in the drug trade to operate within the Hannibal community.
