At approximately 12:30 a.m. Monday morning an officer of the Hannibal Police Department located a vehicle, in the parking lot of a Hotel in the 3600 block of McMasters Ave, which matched the description of a suspicious vehicle reported earlier in the day. During the course of the investigation, the officers went to a room of the hotel in order to contact the occupants. Upon making contact at the room, the officer could smell a strong chemical odor and saw several items, commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, in plain view. The occupants of the room, 23 year old John H. Bramblett and 28 year old Heidi J. Arthur, both of Hannibal, were arrested and charged with Manufacturing A Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both Bramblett and Arthur were released pending further investigation.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
