On Thursday, February 13, 2020 at approximately 12:30 p.m. an officer was investigating a traffic accident in the 100 block of North 7th Street. During the investigation an unrelated vehicle drove by the officer investigating the accident. The passenger, Damien M.W. McCulley, 22 of Hannibal, displayed a handgun, made threatening gestures towards the officer with the handgun, and shouted at the officer. The vehicle McCulley was in was later located and a traffic stop was conducted. McCulley was taken into custody without incident. A handgun was recovered from inside the vehicle. Prior to this incident McCulley was under investigation for calling in a bomb threat to a local business. On Friday, February 14, 2020 warrants were issued for McCulley by the 10th Judicial Circuit. McCulley is being charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Harassment in the First Degree, and Armed Criminal Action for the incident involving the officer. McCulley is also being charged with Harassment in the First Degree and Making a Terroristic Threat for the incident involving the bomb threat. His bond is set at $25,000 for each incident. McCulley remains housed in the Marion County Jail.
