Officers of the Hannibal Police Department (HPD) conducted eight (8) on site alcohol sale compliance checks at local convenience stores, grocery stores and restaurants Wednesday (July 20th) evening in a continued effort to reduce the availability of alcoholic beverages to minors. Of the eight (8) businesses checked for compliance (6) were found to be in compliance. Thus far in 2011 the Hannibal Police Department has conducted a combined total of thirty four (34) compliance checks at various businesses in Hannibal and found only ten (10) that were noncompliant which represents an 71% compliance rate.
The businesses found in compliance on Wednesday were as follows:
- Pick A Dilly 3531 Market St.
- Save A Lot 1222 Broadway
- Casey’s 3827 Highway MM
- Abel’s 100 Shinn Lane
- Wal-Mart 3650 Stardust
- County Market 202
- Steamboat Bend
The businesses found to be non-compliant were as follows:
- Ayerco 4121 Market St
- Cassano’s 2860 James Rd
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
