On Saturday morning, an officer of the Hannibal Police Department discovered damage to a patrol car while it was parked in the police department parking lot. The rear window of the vehicle had been shattered and the trunk lid was dented and scrapped. A short time later, 25 year old Victoria E. Norell, of Hannibal, walked into the police department lobby and confessed to damaging the vehicle. Norell stated she was homeless and believed causing the damage would provide her with a place to spend the night. Department surveillance cameras confirmed her as the suspect. Norell was arrested and placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County Jail.
