While patrolling the Huck Finn Shopping Center, Thursday morning, an Officer of the Hannibal Police Department recognized two subjects in a vehicle that matched the description of suspects wanted for stealing. The officer made contact with the vehicle and identified the occupants as, 21 year old Amanda N. Schoonmaker and 34 year old Darcy L. Morris, both of Hannibal. Morris had an active Probation and Parole warrant and attempted to flee from the officer on foot. After a short pursuit, Morris was apprehended and placed under arrest. Schoonmaker was arrested without incident. Morris was charged with the Probation and Parole warrant and with Resisting Arrest. Schoonmaker was charged with Stealing, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana). Schoonmaker was also arrested on Possession of a Controlled Substance (Heroin), stemming from a previous investigation by the Hannibal Police Departments Narcotics Unit. Both subjects were released to the Marion County Jail.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
