Officers of the Hannibal Police Department, along with officers from other surrounding agencies, will be going through a training called Combat First Aid (Massive Bleeding). Hannibal Police Department has brought in an instructor from the University of Missouri’s Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI) to train all HPD officers in the event Medical Personnel are unable to reach a wounded officer or civilian. “Seconds matter in these types of events and we want the officers to be armed with the knowledge and gear to stabilize themselves, another officer, or a member of the public if the need arises” Chief Lyndell Davis states. “Our tactical response officers (SRT) have been trained in this type of care but now it is being brought to every officer with our department.”
The training is being taught on Tuesday, September 04, 2018 and Wednesday, September 05, 2018 at the Hannibal Police Department.
