Police Department launches Facebook page.
On September 15th the Hannibal Police Department created a department Facebook page as another means to provide information to the public. Since more of the population is relying on the internet and social media for information, the page was created with the intentions of informing the public of current events, public safety topics and providing real time information on occurring situations such as robberies and missing persons. The police departments’ page is not meant as a replacement for other media, but as another source to distribute information and educate the public on law enforcement issues.
