On Saturday morning (Sept 24) during a block party in the 1800 block of Hope St, a vehicle, driven by 37 year old Jeremaine L. Johnson, of Hannibal, drove into the blocked off area nearly hitting several people. The vehicle was stopped by an officer on scene and Johnson was arrested. During a search of his person, a loaded hand gun was located in his pants pocket along with a baggie containing prescription pills. Johnson attempted to resist officers, but was subdued and transported to the police department. Johnson was booked on charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Delivering a Controlled Substance, Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Revoked, Fail to Register A Vehicle, No Proof of Insurance, Running Barricades, a Misdemeanor Warrant and a Parole Violation Warrant. Johnson was released to the Marion County Jail.
