On Friday 04/06/2012 while patrolling the 2000 block of Gordon St, an officer of the Hannibal Police Department saw two subjects involved in what appeared to be a drug transaction. When the officer exited his patrol car, one subject fled on foot and the officer pursued. During the foot pursuit, the subject removed items from his jacket and threw them on the ground. The subject, 31 year old Vincent L. Dawson, of Hannibal, was apprehended and taken into custody. Officers then located a syringe containing what is believed to be heroin, lying in the area where Dawson threw items on the ground. Dawson was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Resisting Arrest and released pending warrants.
