On Tuesday, February 28th, officers of the Hannibal Police Department were at a residence in the 700 block of Pine St attempting to locate a juvenile suspect involved in a burglary. When officers contacted the occupants they detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the house. A male subject was taken into custody on an active city warrant and questioned about the odor. The subject stated he had just eaten the marijuana before answering the door. A search warrant for the residence was obtained and a substance believed to be marijuana and several items consistent with distribution of marijuana were located inside the residence.  Also located was a large amount of what is believed to be methamphetamine. Taken into custody were Michael W Bell (33) and Desirae N Shaw (25) both of Hannibal. Bell was charged with the active warrant, Tampering with Evidence, Manufacture and Deliver of a Controlled Substance and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Bell was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County Jail. Shaw was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and released pending a warrant.
