On Tuesday June 18th, 2019, at approximately 8:13 a.m., officers assigned to the Hannibal Police Department (HPD) Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES) and officers from HPD Patrol Division attempted to stop a vehicle traveling south on US 61.  The vehicle failed to yield and after a brief vehicle pursuit the driver fled from the vehicle on foot.  The driver, Jeffrey Anderson (33, of Hannibal), was taken into custody without incident.  The vehicle Anderson was driving was towed to the Hannibal Police Department where a search warrant on the vehicle was served.  During this search a large amount of what is believed to be marijuana was seized.  Anderson was placed on a 24 hour hold for resisting arrest, distribution of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance.  He was cited for driving while revoked, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, failing to stop at a stop sign, and failing to yield right-of-way to oncoming traffic.  A warrant was issued for Distributing a Controlled Substance. Andersons’ bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.  He has since posted bond and was released.
