At 12:08 a.m. Tuesday morning, Officers of the Hannibal Police Department arrested 35 year old Gary L. Haynes, of Hannibal, on charges of Interfering with Arrest by Fleeing from Police and Driving While Intoxicated. During the course of the arrest, Haynes resisted by fighting with officers and struck an officer in the head. Haynes was subdued and arrested with additional charges of 2 counts of Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. Haynes was placed in the Marion County Jail on 24 hour holds pending warrants.
