Officers of the Hannibal Police Department were called to the 1100 block of Ely St Sunday night on a report that an unknown male subject had entered the basement of a residence and was causing a disturbance. When officers arrived they found 51 year old Gerald A. Maple, of Hannibal, in the basement. Maple, who appeared to be intoxicated, was throwing items and attempting to break waterlines. Officers entered the basement and utilized O/C pepper spray to take Maple into custody. Maple was arrested and charged with Trespassing and Interfering with Arrest. Maple was transported by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital and placed on a 96 hour observation.
