On Monday 04/10/2017 at 5:01pm, Hannibal Police Officers responded to a traffic crash involving a vehicle and a 58 year old male bicyclist. When officers arrived the driver, Dakota Kuntz (24) of Hannibal, fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers initiated a pursuit and the vehicle stopped a short time later. Kuntz was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (felony), leave the scene of an accident involving injury (felony), assault 2nd degree (felony), possession of methamphetamine (felony), fail to yield intersection (two counts), fail to keep right half of roadway, and resist arrest (felony). Kuntz was transported to the Marion County Jail on a 24 hour hold. The bicyclist suffered injuries and was transported to Blessing Hospital by the Marion County Ambulance.
