On Friday, 10/28/2016 at approximately 9:00pm a Hannibal Police Officer assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES), initiated a traffic stop on Fulton Avenue at Terrace Street. The passenger, Taurean Snoddy (32) of Hannibal, was found to have an active felony arrest warrant for child neglect. Snoddy resisted arrest and the officer was injured in a struggle. Snoddy fled the stop as more officers responded to the area and set up a perimeter. The Missouri State Highway Patrol K9 Unit was called to assist in the search. Prior to the K9 being deployed a Hannibal Police Officer spotted Snoddy and initiated a foot pursuit. Snoddy was subdued using a TASER and was taken into custody. Snoddy was transported to the Marion County Jail on the felony warrant as well as a St. Charles County traffic warrant. Snoddy was also placed on 24 hour hold for felony resisting arrest, and assault on a law enforcement officer. The officer sustained minor injuries and was evaluated on scene by the Marion County Ambulance. A warrant was issued on Sunday for Snoddy. He was charged with 2 counts of felony resisting arrest and 1 count of assault 3rd degree on Law Enforcement Officer. His bond was set at $50,000 cash only.
