On Thursday morning at 01:13 a.m. officers of the Hannibal Police Department responded to a report a leave the scene accident in the 2600 block of St. Marys Ave. A vehicle, driven by 29 year old Brandon S. Slaybaugh, of Hannibal, struck a utility pole and left the scene. The utility pole fell onto St. Marys Ave, blocking traffic and causing a power outage in the area. A short time later, Slaybaugh was located and arrested on charges of Leave the Scene of an Accident, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Suspended. Slaybaugh was released on summons.
