On December 5th, a warrant was issued by the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County, charging 23 year old Keviante J. Guyton, of Hannibal with 1st degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Guyton is the mother of the 3 month old child flown to Cardinal Glennon Hospital Tuesday December 2nd due to injuries received from abuse. Guyton was arrested at Cardinal Glennon Hospital Friday December 5th. Guytons bond was set at $50,000.00.  There is no photo of Guyton available at this time.

***ORIGINAL RELEASE***

Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening (Dec 2nd) officers of the Hannibal Police Department were dispatched by Marion County 911 to the Hannibal Regional Hospital in regard to child abuse involving a 3 month old infant. Due to the severity of the childs injuries, the infant was flown to Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis.  The father of the child, 23 year old Eugene R. Melton, of Hannibal, was arrested for Child Abuse and placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County Jail. On December 3, 2014 a warrant was issued by the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County charging Melton with the Class B Felony of Abuse or Neglect of a Child with Serious Physical Injury. Metons bond was set at $100,000.00 cash only. Melton remains in the Marion County Jail.
