On Tuesday evening Officers of the Hannibal Police Department were called to the 300 block of Bird St. for a report of trespassing. The caller reported seeing a subject in his back yard, who he knew had a history of stealing and burglaries, acting as if he was attempting to hide something in his shirt. When the caller confronted him, the subject walked across the street and into his own house. Upon investigating the incident, officers discovered the subject, 36 year old Lance A. O’Brien of Hannibal, had burglarized another residence in the neighborhood and stole several items of food. Officers contacted O’Brien and arrested him without incident. While officers were booking O’Brien he became resistant and refused to be fingerprinted and urinated on the floor of a holding cell. O’Brien was charged with Burglary 2nd degree and Resisting Arrest and placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County Jail.
