On Tuesday, May 23rd, afternoon, officers of the Hannibal Police Department responded to an assault in progress at business located in the 300 block of US 61 S. When officers arrived, they contacted the female victim, who is an employee of the business. The victim stated she had attempted to speak to another employee, Jason J Cunningham (38 of Hannibal) when he became angry, threw her to the ground and hit her. Cunningham also attempted to drag the victim into a creek bed located next to the business. Cunningham was arrested on 1 count of Assault 3rd Degree and 1 count of Assault 2nd Degree. He was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County Jail. The victim received minor injuries, but did not seek medical treatment.
