At 2231 hours on Friday, August 7th, officers of the Hannibal Police Department were called to a report of a stabbing in the 1200 block of Fulton. When officers arrived on scene they discovered a 62 year old male victim inside a residence with a stab wound to the upper body. Derek M. Yakes, 26, of Hannibal was arrested on scene without incident. Derek was charged with assault 1st and placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County jail pending an arrest warrant. Brandon Yakes, 30, of Hannibal was also arrested on scene without incident. Brandon was charged with interfere/resist arrest and was also placed on a 24 hold at the Marion County jail pending an arrest warrant. The victim was flown to the University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
